WCLV TO BROADCAST DON GIOVANNI LIVE, MARCH 27th



The Cleveland Orchestra will present the third of the Mozart/Da Ponte opera cycle, Don Giovanni, on March 19, 22, 24 and 27, and WCLV will broadcast the Sunday, 3/27, performance live. And in co-operation with American Public Media, the broadcast will also be heard on Classical South Florida (WKCP) in MIami as well as elsewhere in the nation.



WCLV's broadcast will start at 1:00 PM,
with a half hour "pre-game" show
that will include excerpts from the two
previous Mozart/Da Ponte operas
presented by the Orchestra -
The Marriage of Figaro and Cosi Fan Tutte -
as well as comments by Music Director
Franz Welser-Moest..

Joining WCLV's regular orchestra
commentator Robert Conrad will be guest
host Valerie Kahler, a well-known voice on
Classical South Florida. 89.7. 

Baritone Simon Keenlyside sings the
 title role in his first American performance
of the part. Eva Mei is Donna Anna, Malin
Hateius,Donna Elvira and Ruben Drole,
Leporello. Franz Welser-Moest conducts.
