KARL HAAS PRIZE FOR MUSIC EDUCATION AWARDED TO PETER VAN DE GRAAFF
 The 2010 Karl Haas Prize for Music
Education has been awarded to
Peter Van de Graaff, host of the nationally
syndicated all-night program from WFMT,
Chicago. Long time WCLV listeners will
remember Peter, who graced the WCLV
airwaves for a number of years.
This award's namesake, the late Karl Haas,
received the first Fine Arts Radio International
Awards Lifetime Achievement honor in 2000.
WCLV was the producer and distributor of Karl's program, Adventures in Good Music, from 1970 to 2007.
WCLV won the Classical Music Education via
Radio award in 2002 for its Klassical Kids
(spelled with a K) program. Other winners have
included Peter Schickele, Martin Bookspan,
Leonard Slatkin, Bill McGlaughllin, The Children’s Group/Toronto, Christopher O’Riley, PRI’s ‘Performance Today,’ Michael Tilson Thomas, and British radio-TV program host/producer Howard Goodall.
