GERHARDT ZIMMERMANN CELEBRATES 30 YEARS WITH CANTON SYMPHONY

On Sunday, October 10th, Gerhardt
Zimmermann will celebrate his 30th
anniversary as Music Director of the
Canton Symphony Orchestra, WCLV's
Robert Conrad sat down with him on
the stage of the Canton Players in the
Canton Art Center recently, and the
two talked of Gerhardt's time in Canton
as well as previewing the October
10th concert.  This Canton Symphony
Preview will be broadcast on WCLV,
Thursday, October 7 at 8:00 PM.

The concert, to be given at Umstattd Hall at McKinley High School, will
have Maestro Zimmermann sharing his lifelong passion for Beethoven’s
Symphony No. 7, both in the piece itself, and as quoted in the young American
composer Kevin Puts’ Inspiring Beethoven. Also on the program, the
Dvorak American Suite.
