CLEVELAND ORCHESTRA'S STAGED PRODUCTION OF MOZART'S COSI FAN TUTTE ON WCLV
The Cleveland Orchestra's highly acclaimed staged production of Mozart’s comic opera Così fan tutte will receive its first broadcast on WCLV, Saturday afternoon, August 21st at 1:00 PM. Music Director Franz Welser-Möst conducts the production, which he previously led in Zurich in collaboration with stage director Sven-Eric Bechtolf, An international cast of soloists appears with the Orchestra for the production, which is performed in Italian. Members of the Cleveland Orchestra Opera Chorus, prepared by Robert Porco, will appear as soldiers, servants, and sailors in Mozart’s “dramma buffa” (comic drama), a comic drama that in this production ends tragically.
