THE ORCHESTRA PLAYS PINES OF ROME; WCLV GIVES OUT PINE TREES AT BLOSSOM
This Sunday, July 17th, The Cleveland
Orchestra under Andrea Gram and
James Feddeck, along with the
Kent/Blossom Chamber Orchestra,
will perform Respighi's Pines of Rome.
WCLV is the media sponsor for the
concert, and two WCLV staff members,
Jacqueline Gerber, host of First Program
and general manager Jenny Northen,
will be at the gate to give out white
pine seedlings to the first 500
patrons.
In addition to the Pines of Rome,
the program includes Mendelssohn's
Fingal's Cave Overture; Beethoven's
Symphony No. 1; Rossini's William
Tell Overture; Mendelssohn's Violin
Concerto with Karen Gomyo as soloist;
and Respighi's The Fountains of Rome.
The evening features a performance by the Kent/Blossom Chamber Orchestra, followed by selections by The Cleveland Orchestra, and then concludes with a side-by-side performance by the two orchestras playing The Pines of Rome
