BALDWIN-WALLACE CONCERTS ON WCLV

The 2009-2010 concert season will bring ten
broadcasts on WCLV from the Baldwin-Wallace
Conservatory. The series kicks off at 8:00 PM
on Friday, September 11th with a program of
Hidden Treasures, a sampling of the best
performances from the 2008-2009 season.
Several of the programs will be live; the others
presented on a delayed basis.
Of special interest is the Iron Composer Competition,
which takes place on Friday, October 2 at 8:00 PM.
Broadcast live, it's an "instant composition
competition," presented by ANALOG arts. Five
finalists from around the country will have just
five hours to write a piece of music for a surprise
instrumentation and a "secret ingredient" which
will be revealed that morning. The pieces will be
rehearsed and performed by the ANALOG arts ensemble in the free public concert.
A panel of judges will determine who is the next Iron Composer.
The five finalists are Andrew Jamieson (IL), Travis Jeffords (IN), Wei-Chieh Lin (NY),
Sunny Knable (NY) and John Rot (OH). More information on the Iron Composer event is
available at this website: : http://ironcomposer.org/?page_id=94.
