FIVE CIM STUDENTS/ALUM CHOSEN FOR YOUTUBE SYMPHONY
WITH HELP OF THE WCLV AUDIENCE

Five students at the Cleveland Institute of Music have won the audition to be
members of the the YouTube Symphony Orchestra. YouTube invited musicians
from around the world to audition via the Internet for the YouTube Symphony Orchestra.
The video entries were combined into the first ever collaborative virtual performance,
and the world, including listeners to WCLV, went to the YouTube web site and
voted for the best to perform at New York City's Carnegie Hall on April 15, 2009 under
the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas.
The five CIM students/alum are: Alexandra Early, violin; Ben Odhner, violin;
David George, bass; Joel Negus, bass; and Karla Donehew, violin (CIM alum).
David George will be the guest of Jacqueline Gerber on WCLV's First Program on Monday,
April 27th in the 9:00 AM hour.
