The Metropolitan Opera’s Saturday
matinee broadcasts are the longest-running
continuous classical program in radio history.
They have been heard on WCLV since 1969,
when the station became the first independent
commercial FM station to carry the broadcasts.

The 78th season features twenty-two
broadcasts presented on the Toll Brothers–
Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network through April 25. Margaret Juntwait
returns as the series’s host for her fifth season.
