SIMON BOLIVAR YOUTH ORCHESTRA IN LIVE BROADCAST FROM LUCERNE ON 9/11
The Cleveland Orchestra has just returned from a smash concert series at the Lucerne Festival, and now another orchestra making noise on the world stage and one that crossed paths with TCO in Salzburg visits Lucerne. On Thursday, September 11, the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra under the baton of its wunderkind music director Gustavo Dudamel will perform Mahler's Symphony No. 2 "Resurrection." WCLV will broadcast this concert live beginning at 1:30 PM.
The soloists will be soprano Janice Watson and contralto Jane Henschel. Also assisting, the Chorus of the Musikhochschule Mannheim and the Landesjugendchoir Rheinland-Pfalz.
