CHICAGO SYMPHONY BEING HEARD ON WCLV TUESDAYS AT 9:00 PM

Concerts by The Chicago Symphony Orchestra have returned to the WCLV airwaves on Tuesdays at 9:00 PM. 10th.   Produced by Marty Ronish and hosted Lisa Simeone, the two-hour, weekly CSO broadcasts will offer a unique format that will illustrate the stories found inside the music, with insight from the performers themselves.  In addition performances by the CSO, the broadcasts will include produced segments featuring interviews with CSO musicians, guest artists and composers; and an exploration of the stories found within the CSO’s heritage of recordings and the Orchestra’s history in Chicago.

Future broadcasts will expand on the this new format, featuring concert programs that reflect themes found within the CSO’s concert season; programs that highlight sections of the Orchestra, including interviews with members of each section; and interviews with the world-renowned conductors and soloists who appear with the CSO.  Each radio broadcast will highlight the many programs and events at Symphony Center, encouraging listeners to visit the CSO’s Web site,
www.cso.org, for additional content, including full-length interviews and the Orchestra’s weekly program notes. The broadcasts will also support the CSO’s new record label, CSO Resound, with programs timed to coincide with the release of each new recording.  The Orchestra performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 3, led by Principal Conductor Bernard Haitink, hit the airwaves in Chicago on Tuesday,  May 8, days before the Orchestra’s recording of the work is available in stores, but the same day as a digital download is available.

Details of the upcoming Chicago Symphony broadcasts can be found in the WCLV Program Guide on this website.
