The Black Arts

A. Grace Lee Mims, host

The Black Arts is presented on WCLV 104.9 FM at 10:00 pm every Wednesday evening. An hour long magazine program devoted to celebrating black composers and performers, it also features The Black Arts Calendar, a listing of arts events involving and of interest to not only the African-American community, but the community at large.

A. Grace Lee Mims, host of The Black Arts  since 1976, has been a stalwart member of the arts and cultural scene in Cleveland for thirty-four years. Her contributions to the Cleveland community and Northeastern Ohio range from voice teacher (classical, jazz, and gospel) to arts and education advocator and librarian.  Ms. Mims was recognized on March 17, 2007 at the 16th annual Women of Vision Luncheon by the National Coalition of 100 Black Women. She has also been awarded an honorary PhD from Cleveland State University.

The Black Arts is presented with support from The United Black Fund,.
