OPENING CONCERT OF THE 2007-2008 SEVERANCE
HALL SEASON KICKS OFF THE LIVE BROADCASTS OF
THE CLEVELAND ORCHESTRA

On Saturday, September 22 at the special time of 8:30 PM, WCLV will broadcast
live the opening concert of the Cleveland Orchestra's 2007-2008 Severance Hall
season, the first of the on-going series of live Saturday night broadcasts by the
ensemble on WCLV.
Music Director Franz Welser-Moest will direct an all-orchestral
program including Mozart's Symphony No. 28, K. 200;
Pintscher's Five Orchestral Pieces in their U.S. Premiere;
and Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 6 Pathétique.
The following week, Saturday, September 29, guest conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy will lead the
Orchestra in the complete incidental music to Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt. Assisting will be
Inger Dam-Jensen, soprano; Joshua Hopkins, baritone; John DeLancie, narrator; and the
Oberlin College Choir.
