 Here are the winners in the 2007 Cleveland International Piano Competition 

First Place - Alexander Ghindin
Second Place - Yaron Kohlberg
Third Place - Alexandre Moutouzkine
Fourth Place - Ran Dank
 

 

 

The 2007 Cleveland International Piano Competition took place from July 25th through August 5th at the Cleveland Play House and at Severance Hall. And WCLV was there to bring you every note.  WCLV's Mark Satola, Nancy Sinning, Jacqueline Gerber and John Simna hosted wall-to-wall broadcast.

Rounds One, Two and Three took place at the Bolton Theatre of the Cleveland Playhouse. Then on August  3 and 4, the action moved to Severance Hall for the Final Concerto Rounds with The Cleveland Orchestra and Jahja Ling.  

WCLV'S COVERAGE OF THE 2007 CLEVELAND INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION WAS MADE POSSIBLE BY JUDSON OF UNIVERSITY CIRCLE. SMART LIVING SINCE 1906.

At stake at CIPC 2007 is the richest list of prizes of any piano competition:

First Prize:  Cash award of $50,000, presented by Mr. and Mrs. A. Malachi Mixon III; New York recital debut at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center; International compact disc recording on the Naxos label; Two years of management service; Worldwide engagements for professional fees (potential income of approximately $100,000) – TBA

Second Prize: Cash award of $25,000

Third Prize: Cash award of $15,000, presented by Mr. and Mrs. Richard A. Manuel

Fourth Prize: Cash award of $10,000
