ADVERTISING ON WCLV

WCLV is in its 45th year of broadcasting Classical music in Cleveland, and our longevity can be attributed to a few very important things, not the least of which is fruitful relationships with our advertisers. Here are a few important things to note:

WCLV is a commercially licensed station, not a public radio station. That means we “earn our own way.” We don’t receive funding from the local, state or federal government. We do not ask our listeners for money. We generate the revenue required to operate the station by connecting our listeners with products and services of interest to them. In other words, we sell advertising time to companies and organizations that we believe will benefit from reaching our listeners. Years of effectively presenting commercial messages to our responsive audience has resulted in success for our advertisers.

Stating what is perhaps the obvious, we are a critical mouthpiece for arts organizations.  We are, without question, the most effective and efficient way for them to reach their primary constituents in this community.  And we provide a unique environment for other organizations and companies to be affiliated with the arts via sponsorships on WCLV.

We know who we are and what we stand for.  Radio stations don’t often speak in terms of standing for something, but it’s important to us to present quality programming, to partner with the arts community to enhance the quality of life in greater Cleveland, and to provide a haven for “thinking” people who don’t want to be yelled at or talked down to.  We deal honestly and fairly with our listeners and with our clients.  We’re consistent. We do what we say we’re going to do. That approach to business has served us well, and it has served our advertisers well, also.
