WCLV TO BROADCAST MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. CONCERT
The annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Severance Hall Concert by The Cleveland Orchestra on Sunday, January 14th will be broadcast live by WCLV beginning at 7:00 PM. Two other Cleveland stations, WCPN and WNWV, will also carry this special radio event. WCLV's Robert Conrad will be the air host.
The guest conductor will be Chelsea Tipton with the Orchestra joined by the Central State University Chorus and the Martin Luther King Celebration Chorus.
This will be the 27th annual concert celebrating the spirit of Dr. King's life, leadership and vision. It will include the world premiere of Oberlin composer Jeffrey Mumford's the comfort of his voice, a work commissioned by the Orchestra.
There will be a free concert preview from 6:00 to 6:30 with Jeffrey Mumford in conversation with Robert Conrad. Mumford will also be interviewed during the broadcast intermission of the concert.
There is free admission to this concert, but tickets are required.
