2012 JUBILATION - THE STUART CHURCH CHOIR FESTIVAL
MAY 10th and 11th

 

WCLV and the Cathedral of St. 
John the Evangelist in downtown 
Cleveland will prsent the 
fifth annual Jubilation, The Elizabeth
Stuart  Church Choir Festival,
Thursday, May 10th and Friday,
May11th. 

The annual choral festival has been
named in honor of the late Elizabeth
Stuart, who created and produced
the event. Liz died in December, 2010.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be broadcast live by WCLV from
The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist at 8:00 PM, on the10th and the 11th ay 8:00 PM/ .

The six choirs that will be featured in this year’s Jubilation are:

Thursday, May 10

First United Methodist Cuyahoga Falls Epworth Choir - Dean Wagner, Director
St. Joseph Church, Avon Lake - Lorene Coughlin, Director
Suffield United Church of Christ, Mogadore – David W. Baughman, Director

Friday, May 11

First Congregational Church of Hudson – Thomas M. Scott, Director
St. Noel Church, Willoughby Hills - Agniezska Bieniek, Director
Mary Queen of Peace Chamber Choir, Cleveland – David Jaronowski, Director 

The six choirs will each present a twenty minute program which will be adjudicated by
a panel of distinguished judges. This year the judges will be Robert Page, former
Director of  Choruses for The Cleveland Orchestra and and Music Director Emeritus of
The Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh; Frank Bianchi, former Director of the Cleveland Orchestra
Youth Chorus and Founding Director of the Baldwin Wallace Men's Chorus; Peter
Jarjisian, Professor of Music and Director of Choral Studies at Ohio University.

The winning choir will receive $1000 and a trophy.  The other five choirs will each receive
$500 and a commemorative plaque.  New for this year is an additional cash award for
the choir voted the Audience Favorite each night of the Festival.
