When Harvey Sachs was
a junior in high school,
he talked Robert Conrad
in to letting him do a weekly
hour program devoted to
the recordings of Arturo
Toscanini. The series
began on what was
WDGO before it became
WCLV and ran for two
years. Harvey is now
a distinguished author,
musiccologist and lecturer.
His latest book is The Ninth - Beethoven and
the World in 1824. His book
on Toscanini is considered
the foremost publication on
the subject. On November
17, 2010, he stopped in
at WCLV to visit with
Jacqueline Gerber on
First Program, prior to
his book signing
at Jospeh-Beth Booksellers..
